Hillstone Software announces the release of version 1.5 of "HsCipherSDK" - an Encryption Library providing an API to a suite of symmetric key cryptographic algorithms and one way hash digital signature algorithms.

The new version adds support for SHA-512 in addition to Whirlpool secure hashing algorithm standardized in ISO/IEC 10118-3.

Whirlpool is a hash designed after the Square block cipher. Whirlpool is a Miyaguchi-Preneel construction based on a substantially modified Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). It takes a message of any length less than 2256 bits and returns a 512-bit message digest.

The library allows software engineers and system integrators to reduce the time to market of the projects related to the security enabled features: encryption and digital signing / authentication.

This encryption library is offered with full C / C++ source code, which makes it possible to use it on Windows, Linux or port it to embedded environments

The library also includes standard DLL and C Sharp DLL interface for use from .NET applications.

Other major algorithms apart from Whirlpool inlcude AES, DES / Triple DES, ARC4, CAST128, Blowfish, Twofish, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512
